ASGEN operates actively in the production and distribution of various vegetable seeds, field crops and foliar fertilizers.
Established in 1993 to grow potatoes, ASGEN has invested for the first local private tissue culture laboratory for the purpose of potato seed propagation in 1994.
ASGEN has increased its field of operations by investing in production and distribution of fieldcrops and vegetable seeds, starting by 2003. ASGEN has also invested in the production of foliar fertilizers in 2009. Today, ASGEN offers field crops and vegetable seeds in almost 30 species with more than 350 registered varieties.
ASGEN serves the local market as well as other markets in Asia, Middle East and CIS countries. The “ASGEN” brand is used for all seed and fertilizer varieties. The company also does contractual production of hybrid corn seed and vegetable seed for other seed suppliers. The harvested seed is processed in the seed production plant of ASGEN in Balikesir.
Having the headquarters in Istanbul, ASGEN owns a 100 ha seed farm where most of its seed supply is being produced in the 100 ha farm in Balikesir. Screening trials of vegetable seeds are done in the company owned greenhouses in Antalya.
