Anka is established in Nevsehir in 1994. Besides its daughter company, Anka provides services to potato companies whom need storage in the vicinity of Nevsehir to keep their potatoes and/or seedpotatoes.
In Turkey, it is possible to have fresh potatoes from harvest between May- November. For the rest of the year, there is a certain need for potato storages in order to continue supplying good quality seedpotatoes and potatoes to the same market. Therefore, Anka carries an important role as an investor of air controlled potato storages for the producers and traders of potato market. The company has three underground storages with a total capacity of 25.000 metric tonnes. The specific characteristics of the structures are to be designed as separate underground storage rooms each for 200-250 metric tonnes according to the monolithic volcanic base. The perfect isolation and suitable natural conditions (85% humidity and a temperature of 9-12 Celsius degrees) of the monolithic volcanic base combined with controlled air ventilation, offers excellent performance in these storages.
